Brian Hopkins is a Vice President with Ancora Advisors. Mr. Hopkins is Portfolio Manager for the firm's Asset Allocation Strategy, Merlin Partners, a Private Investment Partnership managed by Ancora and a number of managed accounts. In addition to his portfolio management responsibilities, Mr. Hopkins focuses on research of Ancora's new investments and monitoring of active investments across all mutual fund and managed account products. 

Before joining Ancora Advisors in 2003, Mr. Hopkins was an Investment Associate with Primus Venture Partners, one of the largest and most successful private equity firms based in the Midwest. At Primus, Mr. Hopkins was actively involved in the due diligence of new investments, focusing on financial analysis and modeling, industry research, management evaluation and customer, supplier and channel interviews. Mr. Hopkins was also involved with the monitoring of portfolio investments where he participated in evaluating exit alternatives, management candidates, and strategic direction planning. 

Before joining Primus, Mr. Hopkins worked in the Investment Banking Division of Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown as an Associate in London after completing the Financial Analyst Program in Baltimore. While at Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown, Mr. Hopkins worked in the Consumer & Business Services Industry Group and focused primarily on Mergers & Acquisitions advisory assignments and equity offerings.

Mr. Hopkins graduated with Honors from Georgetown University in 1998 with a degree in Finance and minor in Economics.
