Alan G. Miller
began his investment career in 1973 as an investment consultant
with an actuarial firm based in Cleveland, Ohio. There Mr.
Miller helped a select group of clients monitor and compare
investment results, a fiduciary requirement under the ERISA Act
of 1974.
In 1980, Mr. Miller began managing investment portfolios for
pension and profit sharing clients. Mr. Miller was an early
advocate of utilizing mutual funds to design an investment
portfolio to meet pre-established investment objectives and
goals, while at the same time achieving efficient
diversification.
In 1994, Mr. Miller joined The Maxus Investment Group as Vice
President and Portfolio Manager. At Maxus, Mr. Miller managed
portfolios for individuals along with pension and profit sharing
plans. Additionally, Mr. Miller was President and Portfolio
Manager of the Maxus Laureate Fund.
After merging with Gelfand Partners in 1997, Mr. Miller was
given the additional responsibility of managing a hedge fund.
After the sale of Maxus Asset Management to Fifth Third Bank in
2001, Mr. Miller served as a Vice President and Director of the
Fifth Third Worldwide Fund.
Mr. Miller has a BS in Finance from Ohio State University and an
MBA from New York University. At New York University he majored
in Corporate Finance and minored in Economics. |
