RANDALL THORNTON has managed investment portfolios customized to his client’s needs for over thirty years. These relationships included high net worth individuals, pension funds, institutional and foundation accounts.

Prior to joining Ancora Advisors, Mr. Thornton was the Chief Investment Officer for eighteen years at FirstMerit Bank’s Trust and Private Client Services Group in Akron Ohio and before that was the Chief Investment Officer for Citizens Bank’s Trust Division in Flint, Michigan. In both positions, he was responsible for setting and implementing strategies for equity and fixed income investments. He also, directed investment research and management of common trust funds and proprietary mutual funds. In addition he personally managed investment portfolios for a select group of key clients building long lasting relationships through his responsive and personalized service.

Mr. Thornton has a BA degree in economics from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois and a MBA degree in finance from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He has served on various community boards, was the Chairman of the Ohio Bankers Association Investment Committee, is an associate member of the Cleveland Society of Financial Analysts, and an alumnus of Leadership Akron.
